FR Eurocup – Quinn takes pole for race 1 at Monza

The second qualifying session kicks off the Formulas Renault Eurocup in Monza in Italy, which determined the starting grid for the first race of the weekend, saw the domination of the Briton Alex Quinn (Arden), debuting in the series.

The latter waited until the very last moments of the session to set his best lap in 1'47″438, beating another rookie Tijmen Helm (FA Racing) by 127 thousandths. A final sprint of six minutes carried out after the neutralization of the session under Full Course Yellow then red flag, following the immobilization at the side of the track of Ugo de Wilde (Arden).

Good last before the interruption, Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix), best time yesterday in the first qualifying, held his time at the top of the time sheet when the session restarted, before being beaten by Quinn and Helm under the checkerboard. The Frenchman will start in 3rd position alongside Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport).

Hadrien David (MP Motorsport) will start in 10th position in the first race when Reshad of Gerus (Arden) signed the 18th fastest time. The first round of the Formula Renault Eurocup will start at 13 p.m. this Friday.
