Jake Hughes on provisional pole in Macau

Jake Hughes (HWA Racelab) is on provisional pole for the Macau GP qualifying race at the end of the first qualifying session. The Briton set the new lap record with a time of 2'06''793, ahead of David Beckmann (Trident) by half a tenth. Jüri Vips (Hitech GP) completed the leading trio more than a tenth behind.

Behind Marcus Armstrong (SJM Prema Theodore Racing) and Logan sargeant (Carlin Buzz Racing), Daniel Ticktum (Carlin Buzz Racing) took 6th position as the two-time defending champion discovered the news F3.

The session was marked by several interruptions. Yuki tsunoda (Hitech GP) was unable to set a single time after making a mistake. The Japanese had already made a mistake during free practice. Enaam Ahmed (Campos Racing) is 17th after spinning. As for Max Fewtrell (Hitech GP), he hit the wall and failed to qualify. Olli Caldwell (Trident) suffered a mechanical problem limiting him to 27th position.
