Jousse wants to get back into Donington

Julien Jousse had never experienced that this season, often being placed but never winning. Regularly in the top 6 of Formula 2, whether in qualifying or in the race, the Frenchman had not yet managed to climb to the top of the bill, before this first pole won at Donington. Even if his consistency allowed him to be momentarily leader of the F2 standings this season, the native of St Raphaël recognizes that being at the top of the list does a lot of good. “ I'm really happy because I've been waiting for a good qualifying result for a long time, declared the Frenchman after qualifying. I was always 4th, 5th, but never in the lead. »

From then on, this Saturday proved to be profitable for Julien Jousse, who felt confident before heading into this weekend. And winning a pole was particularly close to his heart. “ I was already fast in the first qualifying session but I made a few mistakes so I was looking forward to this second session. Despite the traffic and the yellow flag, I was able to find a good opportunity. »

For Julien Jousse, pole position is a good result but not an end in itself. From now on, the FR 3.5 Series vice-champion wants to make it happen in the race. “ It's a good start to the weekend because I need to score a lot of points to get back to the lead in the championship. The weekend is off to a good start and I hope to continue like this on Sunday. » The two races will start on Sunday at 11:50 a.m. and 16:45 p.m. (French time).
