F3 Japan will become Super Formula Lights in 2020

After 41 years of good and loyal service, the F3 Japan will see its formula modified for 2020, with a new name: Super Formula Lights. The championship will always remain structured around the F3 regulations, with the arrival of a new chassis, further developed by Dallara, and codenamed 320.

In order to contain costs, the engine, gearbox, suspension elements, front and rear wings as well as the electrical systems can be reused by the teams. Enough to soften the bill, especially for potential new commitments.

The single-seaters cannot exceed 585 kg, driver and fuel included, while highlighting several safety additions with the arrival of the Halo or reinforced structures on the side parts.

If the main stated objective remains the reduction of budgetary costs, the promotion of young drivers will remain essential with numerous driving sessions planned each weekend.
