The F3 European Championship unveils its 2013 calendar

The 2013 European Championship calendar F3 will offer ten more meetings for its second season since its resurrection in 2012 which saw Daniel Juncadella win. The discipline will evolve by having joint meetings with the WEC and the WTCC in addition to the DTM and no less than eight countries on the calendar. It will also gain independence from the F3 Euro Series where it shared many events this season. A new regulation will be developed but certain aerodynamic elements cannot be modified in order to limit costs. The engines for the 2012 season will be admitted with Volkswagen and Mercedes who will remain the main suppliers. The manufacturer Hankook will be the sole manufacturer in the discipline.

“We have started the rebirth of the F3 European Championship since last season”, recalls Gerhard Berger, President of the Commission Single seat of the FIA. “After an interesting exchange of points of view brought by everyone involved, we are preparing to take a new step by offering a single-seater Championship with a coherent and attractive calendar. We have done our best to reduce costs by stabilizing technical and sporting regulations in particular. We want the performances to showcase the talents of young drivers. »
