Damon Hill's son ends his career

Bernie Ecclestone dreamed of seeing three generations of the same family racing Formula 1. It obviously won't be right away. Son of Damon and grandson of Graham, Josh Hill, 22, has decided to end his career in motorsport. “Coming from the Hill family, it was inevitable that I would be thrown into racing, explains the young Briton, who was currently engaged with Fortec Motorsports in European F3 Championship. I learned a lot and really enjoyed the experience, but I don't want to compete without being 100% dedicated to what I do. "I now have ambitions for other things and I feel like it's the right thing to do to retire from motorsport."

“Being born into a motorsport dynasty is not something many can talk about”, continues his father Damon Hill. Judging “perfectly understandable” the decision of his son, the 1996 Formula 1 world champion, did not hide a certain emotion. “It is with a little sadness that we make this announcement. I'm sure there will be a lot of disappointed Hill fans but we hope they understand. Sometimes it is more courageous to give up than to continue. He (Josh Hill, Editor’s note) has my full support, as always”, concludes the former pilot Williams, Arrows and Jordan.
