Behind the scenes of F2

Powerful cars, budget limited to 200 euros and mono-management of the entire field allowing anyone to fight regularly, regardless of their financial situation, this is an idyllic championship offered by the FIA to young drivers who have no not necessarily the means to engage at the highest level.

Just over two months before the launch of the championship F2, the situation appears slightly different in reality. Not counting the increase in registration fees to 250 euros, despite a very favorable period for the European currency, it is starting to become clear, especially for the youngest, that the sums necessary to succeed could be much more higher than that initially announced.

Indeed, in parallel with the private tests offered by Jonathan Palmer's Motor Sport Vision company, manager of the championship, several drivers have already decided to improve their own training using more ambitious and much more expensive methods. This is the case of Tobias Hegewald for example, who opted for two days of testing in the World Series Renault in Valencia, the circuit which will host the inaugural round of F2.

Alex Brundle will be involved with the team of F3 Italian RP Motorsport, for testing on the Imola circuit, while Henry Surtees will also take to the track on the same track, during collective testing in Formula Master.

But now, while some are preparing overdraft, how many will decide to travel the slopes of Europe and benefit from a certain advantage, thanks to more substantial financial means?
