Marciello first F3 winner at Monza

Raffaele Marciello made an excellent start from third place on the starting grid to take the lead in Race 1 of the F3 European Championship in Monza. The Italian was not worried by his pursuers who were fighting for the places of honor. Pole sitter Pascal Wehrlein (Mücke Motorsport) was able to keep the lead over Lucas Auer for half the race, but Ralf's replacement Schumacher en DTM made a mistake in the Roggia chicane on the 10th lap, allowing the Austrian to take second place and thus giving the Prema Powerteam a double.

William Buller (ThreeBond with T-Sport) had an exemplary race. After starting from 12th position on the grid, the Briton moved up the ranks in the peloton and finally finished just off the podium, ahead of Harry Tincknell (Carlin). Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport) and Tom Blomqvist (Eurointernational) were fighting for sixth place until the Briton pushed the Swede into a mistake, thus receiving a drive-through. Felix Serralles (Fortec Motorsports) was able to inherit sixth place after a long fight with Alex Lynn (Prema Powerteam). Dennis van der Laar (van Amersfoort Racing) and Eddie Cheever (Prema Powerteam) complete the top ten of the race.

Pascal Wehrlein will have another opportunity by starting from pole in Race 2. Raffaele Marciello can aim for another success by starting in first place in Race 3.
