Marcus Armstrong extends his contract with Prema

Marcus Armstrong is the first driver announced by Prema Racing to compete in the new F3 Championship which will replace the GP3 Series next year. The resident of the Ferrari Driver Academy finished 5th in European F3 with the Italian team, notably achieving a victory, 3 poles and 9 podiums.

“It’s an interesting step in my career and this discipline is clearly the right choice for a young driver in terms of learning and development, commented Marcus Armstrong. The competition is very strong and everything seems ready for a new adventure. The car is quite different from the F3 I drove this year, whether it's the car itself, the engine or the tires. »

Marcus Armstrong won Italian F4 in 2017 while also competing in the German formula. The 18-year-old German driver will compete with 2 teammates.

“Marcus is very talented and has been a title contender in every series he has competed in, said René Rosin, Team Principal of Prema Racing. We know we can achieve fantastic results together and we want to take our thirst for victory with us into the new era of F3. I would like to thank Marcus and Ferrari Driver Aacdemy for their renewed confidence. »
