In dry conditions, Mick Schumacher (Prema) continues his perfect weekend at Red Bull Ring, after winning a very lively second race on the track.
If the son of the seven-time world champion F1 had negotiated the start well, maintaining the advantage over his teammate Marcus Armstrong, further back in the peloton, Sebastian Fernandez (Motopark) and Keyvan Andres (Van Amersfoort Racing) made contact on the first lap, causing the car to enter security personnel while the two damaged cars were evacuated.
Schumacher remained at the forefront at the restart and controlled the proceedings until the second intervention of the safety car less than six minutes from time after the incident involving Artem Petrov (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Alex Palou (Hitech GP) .
On the restart with 2'20" to go, Mick Schumacher once again managed to maintain the advantage, and behind the German, Marcus Armstrong held off his Prema Theodore Racing teammate Robert Shwartzman before the safety car was called in. track one final time after contact between Dan Tickum (Motopark), Sacha Fenestraz (Carlin) and Jehan Daruvala (Carlin), the three drivers being eliminated.
The race ends under Safety-Car regime, Schumacher winning for the fifth time in a row in the FIA F3 ahead of Armstrong and Shwartzman for the podium. Jüri Vips (Motopark) finished 4th ahead of Ralf Aron (Prema), Jonathan Aberdein (Motopark), Fabio Scherer (Motopark), Ferdinand Habsburg (Carlin), Guanyu-Zhou (Prema) and Sophia Flörsch (Van Amersfoort Racing).
The third and final race of the weekend, with Mick Schumacher once again on pole, will begin at around 16 p.m.
