The similarity is obvious. In very humid conditions with rain falling since this morning above the Red Bull Rings, Mick Schumacher (Prema Powerteam) made light of the wet track, as in his time his father Michael remained one of the most comfortable in these situations.
Author of pole position, Mick Schumacher contained the attempts of his teammate Robert Shwartzman during the first two laps before maintaining a lead oscillating around second throughout the race.
Shwartzman will never be able to attempt an attack and Schumacher finally wins with a little less than a second under the checkered flag to sign his fourth success in a row in the FIA F3.
A victory which, coupled with the eighth place of Daniel Ticktum (Motopark), allows Schumi Jr to take control of the Drivers' classification at the end of this first confrontation.
The podium is completed by Alex Palou (Hitech GP). The fight for fourth place offered a very good battle between Marcus Armstrong (Prema Powerteam) and Ferdinand Habsburg (Carlin), Jüri Vips (Motopark) taking sixth place ahead of Jonathan Aberdein (Motopark) and therefore Dan Ticktum.
Sacha Fenestraz (Carlin) fails to score points in eleventh position.
