Regional: Chovet and Hauger on pole in Barcelona

Pierre-Louis Chovet (Van Amersfoort Racing) took the first pole position of his career in Formula Regional Europe. The Frenchman indeed dominated the first of the two qualifying sessions on the Barcelona track. He beat his brand new teammate Dennis Hauger (VAR) and the Dane Oliver Rasmussen (Prema) in Q1.

He will therefore start from pole for the first time this season, and will also be on the front row for races 2 and 3, since he and his teammate Hauger reversed roles in Q2 and Q3, the Norwegian starting in front of the Frenchman. (2nd) for the last two races of the weekend.

In the fight for the title, Arthur Leclerc and Gianluca Petecof, who usually dominate the scoresheets, will start from further away than usual. The Monegasque will indeed take off 5th, 4th and 5th, that is to say twice in front of his Auriverde rival, only 7th, 5th and 3rd. Author of several victories during the last meeting, Patrik Pasma (KIC Motorsport)
