Regional: Chovet on the podium in C2

What a race at Monza! As is often the case in the Temple of Speed, the aspiration phenomenon compensated for the absence of DRS or push to pass button in the category. Above all, we were treated to a high-quality race with lots of twists and turns. The last of them – and not the least – was the penalty imposed on Patrik Pasma (KIC Motorsport), winner of the race but penalized and falling back to 4th place for having slowed down too much before the Parabolic during his last restart under Safety Because. 

This directly benefited Oliver Rasmussen (Prema), who was named winner of the race ahead of Konsta Lappalainen (KIC Motorsport). The Dane took the opportunity to come back to 40 points behind the new championship leader Gianluca Petecof (Prema), who now has a one-unit lead over Arthur Leclerc (Prema) at the top of the drivers' standings.

The Brazilian (6th) and the Monegasque (9th) had a few battles in this race, with a big duel in Lesmo 1 which forced Petecof to lock his wheels and lose a few places, while they were both progressing in the Top 5. But it was Leclerc who ended up losing big by giving up on the penultimate lap (still ranked 9th). 

The other big guy of the day is Pierre-Louis Chovet (Van Amersfoort). The French driver has indeed won his third podium of the season after his 3rd place obtained at Le Castellet and his 2nd position gleaned at Mugello. The young man had the merit of never giving up and making some superb overtakes. He crossed the line in 4th place but finally took advantage of the penalty imposed on Patrik Pasma to climb onto the box.
