Super Formula – Kazuki Nakajima 2014 champion

At the forefront all weekend on this Suzuka circuit that he loves so much, Loïc duval (Team LeMans) had a Sunday that fell short of its expectations. Fifth on the starting grid for the first race of the 2014 season finale, the Frenchman was found guilty of an early start...invisible to the naked eye! Penalized, he took the checkered flag in 11th position. Frustrating. In front, the Brazilian JP De Oliviera (Impul) raced towards victory, ahead of the two Tom'S drivers by 3"846 and 5"577 respectively, Kazuki Nakajima and André Lotterer.

At the end of this last round, the seven-way battle for the title was reduced to a triangular pitting Nakajima (then credited with 38 points) with De Oliveira (37 points) and Lotterer (30,5 points). The Japanese was even more of a favorite than this morning, having taken pole position for this second event yesterday.

Solid, the 2012 champion went on to win his second victory this season, synonymous with his second title, ahead of his teammate at Tom'S, André Lotterer, and Loïc Duval at the finish.

The German and the Frenchman finished third and fourth respectively in the championship, despite the fact that they each missed a meeting. A performance to be commended. João Paulo de Oliveira, the big favorite for the title recently, failed in second place.

Race 1: 1. JP de Oliveira (Impul / Toyota), the 19 laps in 39'41"541, 2. K. Nakajima (Tom'S / Toyota) at 3"8, 3. A. Lotterer (Tom'S / Toyota) at 5"5, 4. Y. Kunimoto (Cerumo / Toyota) at 14 »1. H. Ishiura (Cerumo / Toyota) at 5 »17,…, 4. L. Duval (LeMans / Toyota) at 11 »25, etc.

Race 2: 1. Nakajima, the 28 laps in 54"37, 2. Lotterer at 8"8, 3. Duval at 9"4, 4. De Oliveira at 10'8, 5. Hirakawa at 22"0, etc.
