Ticktum questions Mick Schumacher's performance gain

Is Daniel Ticktum a bad loser or is he really trying to understand the new direction of the Championship F3 ? The pilot Red Bull In any case, it is difficult to keep up with the pace of the son of the seven-time world champion since he is 49 points behind the German before the last meeting of the season which will be contested on October 13 and 14 at Hockenheim.

The frustration is all the greater for the reigning winner of the Macau GP as he was still leading the Championship two events earlier before his German rival won 5 victories in 6 races. This series of performances seems to raise doubts in the mind of the 19-year-old Briton who only registered 16 units last weekend at the Red Bull Ring (Austria) compared to 68 for the new Championship leader.

“I don't like to blame anyone, but my car was lacking pace this weekend, confided Daniel Ticktum on social networks before removing his post. My car was set up better in the last race… but no one had a chance on the grid compared to the first two (Robert Shwartzman and Mick Schumacher, two drivers from Prema Theodore Racing). Even their teammates who are good drivers were nowhere against them. I would say their performances are interesting and I'm sure a large part of the F3 paddock will agree with me. »

Faced with critical comments towards Daniel Ticktum, the latter tried to justify himself.

“I will only respond to people who posted negative comments. I'm not a sore loser. I have great respect for Mick who has had to deal with a lot in recent years. I simply mentioned that his performances seemed to come out of nowhere. I never said he did anything illegal. I like the fact that I always have things to learn. I don't deny that. You're not on track and you don't have everyone's data. I therefore fear that your opinions are not validated given the circumstances… Unfortunately, the fight is lost in advance because my name is not Schumacher. »
