Vergne: “Continue to attack”

Jean-Eric Vergne fulfilled his mission this weekend. The driver of the French FFSA team, leader of the championship F3 British, consolidated his lead by finishing twice on the podium. But it was not easy, as Jean-Eric Vergne tells us. “ In the first event, I really gave everything to hold off the driver who was behind me in the last laps. In the next one, excessive tire wear and the obligatory pit stop caused me to lose two positions. Finally, in the last one, I was the victim of two collisions and had to forcefully overtake a competitor whose car was extremely wide. »

With a first and a second place acquired in three races, “JEV” is doing well in the championship. But the pilot of the Red Bull Junior Team knows that it must not catch fire. “ We must not demobilize. We are respecting our schedule, which is good news. However, we are only halfway through the season: there are five meetings remaining and we will have to continue to attack from start to finish. We are off to a good start but everything can change very quickly. »

Jean-Eric Vergne will contest the sixth round of the British F3 championship on July 30 and 31, in Belgium, opening the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
