Vergne takes control of F3 UK

Jean-Eric Vergne began his 2010 marathon this weekend. If the Frenchman will give priority to this championship of F3 British – won the previous two years by Jaime Alguersuari and Daniel Ricciardo, ??colleagues?? of Red Bull Junior Team - he will also participate in the Formula championship Renault 3.5 Series, which will start from April 16 to 18, at Motorland Aragon.

This weekend, “JEV” met at Oulton Park, venue for the first three races of the 2010 F3 UK season. The driver from the Carlin Motorsport team got off to a perfect start to his season, setting the two best times in qualifying. This season, the first best time offers the place on the starting grid for the third race, the second best time decides the position at the start of the first race. The final classification of this, by partially reversing the first positions, determines the starting grid for the second race.

Jean-Eric Vergne had already won the first race on Saturday after starting from pole and, this Monday, was ranked fifth in the second round, having started in seventh position. For the third race, the Frenchman won again ahead of the Briton Oli Webb. “ It was a very good race, comments Jean-Eric Vergne. I attacked hard until the middle of the race then I slowed down and tried not to make any mistakes. It was enough and I am really satisfied »

The Frenchman leaves Oulton Park as leader of the championship, with 50 points, 17 points better than Oli Webb, his closest pursuer. Next meeting from May 1 to 2 at Silverstone, for three new races. Until then, the Red Bull Junior Team driver will take part in the opening of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship, at Motorland Aragon, from April 16 to 18.
