FR Eurocup – Double for Vidales, winner of race 2

There's no stopping David Vidales. After winning the very first race of his career on Saturday, at Imola, the Spanish driver David Vidales (JD Motorsport) did it again this Sunday afternoon, during race 2 of the Italian meeting. Started just behind the pole sitter, his teammate William Alatalo, Vidales took off better to take the lead at the second turn, at the end of the first straight. Behind, he was never worried, not even by the safety car which intervened on the 5th lap following Petr Ptacek (R-Ace GP) going off the road.

The Spaniard therefore won ahead of William Alatalo (JD Motorsport) and Alex Quinn (Arden) and comes directly to place in ... th place in the championship, despite his absence at Monza during the inaugural round last week.

If Alex Quinn managed to accompany the two men on the podium, it is because he got the better of the championship leader, the Brazilian Hi Collett (R-Ace GP) Member of the Renault Sport Academy, Collet finally finished 5th, after giving in to an attack from Victor martins (ART Grand Prix).

Two 4th places for Martins

The Frenchman, who lost the benefit of his 5th place to the benefit of Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport) on the first lap, quickly regained his position a few turns later. Huddled in Collet's exhausts for four laps, he finally launched his attack on the 5th lap, at the chicane at the end of the first straight.

A feat, as it is almost impossible to overtake without DRS or heavy braking. This was actually the only real overtaking of the weekend. The reigning vice-champion of the category came very close to the podium, after unsuccessfully attacking Alex Quinn on the last lap.

Already the author of a great comeback in Race 1 (from 16th to 9th place), Hadrian David (MP Motorsport) finished 12th after starting from 18th position. The native of Royan is very comfortable in the race but still has some progress to make in qualifying. Reshad de Gerus (Arden), French F4 vice-champion in 2019, finished 15th.
