Hegewald continues his domination

The starts of Spa-Francorchamps races are always interesting, with drivers looking to glean the best position before the Raidillon de l?eau rouge. Starting in the lead, Tobias Hegewald managed to maintain his position without difficulty. At the back of the peloton, Robert Wickens, winner of the first two races of the season, made a mistake, shortly after Moore and Hoing. Meanwhile, Julien Jousse manages to nibble and places himself in third position, ahead of Milos Pavlovic. A position that he did not keep for long since the Serb took third place, ahead of Jousse, after the latter was “tightened” by Wickens on the rope.

Then, the eleven laps of the race will offer few overtaking opportunities. The Frenchman is also the only one in a position to do so, but he is not fast enough to attempt an approach on the Serbian. On the third lap, Alex Brundle went into the gravel and gave his pursuers the opportunity to score big points. Hegewald won at the end of eleven laps, with an undeniable lead, ahead of Soucek, Pavlovic and Jousse, who finished just off the podium. Thanks to this result, Andy Soucek takes control of the championship, with 23 points. But Julien Jousse, consistent in his results, is only two points behind the leader and can hope to get closer on Sunday, during the second race.
