Jousse on the track to grab

Julien Jousse was leader of the ranking of Formula 2. If it only lasted a few hours, between the two Spa-Francorchamps races, the Frenchman had the idea of taking this first place. Today third in the standings, before the races at Brands Hatch, Jousse can harbor ambitions in this championship. And yet, the native of St Raphaël has not yet won a race since the start of the season. “ I will be able to concentrate on winning a few races towards the end of the season when it will be necessary to make a big difference », specifies the Frenchman.

It is therefore his consistency which has paid off so far, since he has scored points in five of the six races, a unique performance within the Formula 2 field. And, at Brands Hatch, Jousse hopes to continue on this path: “ I will be happy if I finish on the podium, or if I finish fifth because it would still be good to pick up some points. » The fight for the title, the former FR 3.5 driver imagines it difficult until the end of the season. “ After Brands Hatch we will be halfway through the championship, so my aim is to stay near the top of the standings and maintain my chances for the title. I think there will still be four or five drivers in the race at the last meetings, so the final will be very close. » For Julien Jousse, as well as for the drivers fighting for the title, the prospect of carrying out tests at the wheel of a Williams F1 -reward for the title in Formula 2- is the driving force of an entire season.
