Juncadella on pole at the Zandvoort F3 Masters

The heavy showers which fell this morning on the Zandvoort circuit forced the stewards to cancel the support races and to delay qualifying for the F3. Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam) was already at the forefront at the end of the first session where the track gradually dried out with the improvement in weather conditions and the passage of cars. The Spaniard set the benchmark time in 1'45"127 but this time was quickly improved in the afternoon. The leader of the F3 Euro Series retained the advantage at the end of the second qualifying session by achieving the best time (1'31"783) and takes pole for tomorrow's race.

If his compatriot Carlos Sainz was the closest to pole, the Carlin driver still failed more than five tenths behind the Prema Powerteam driver. The pilot of the Red Bull Junior Team is well surrounded at the start since it will start in front of Raffaele Marciello (Prema Powerteam) who misses the first row for only a tenth behind. The Italian will start alongside Hannes van Asseldonk (Fortec Motorsports). Felix Rosenqvist (Mücke Motorsport) completes the top five but the Swede will be one to watch closely since he already won at Zandvoort last year. His teammate Pascal Wehrlein completes the third row of the grid.
