Roberto Merhi was able to maintain the lead of the race to grab his second victory of the season, which propels him to the lead in the Championship. His teammate Daniel Juncadella took second place at the start, but he lost control of his car (and the lead of the Championship) in the opening lap.
The Spaniard, who was able to resist Marco Wittman's attacks, can only be satisfied with his performance. “I am very happy with this victory, not only because I now lead the Championship, but also because I am the first winner in the FIA F3 International Trophy,” commented the Prema Powerteam driver after the race.
