Sophia Flörsch joins European F3

The German will make her debut in the category with Van Amersfoort Racing in Zandvoort.

Sophia Flörsch joins European F3

After several months of discussions with its sponsors and the equivalent of the German baccalaureate in hand, Sophia Florsch will make his debut in the European championship F3 with Van Amersfoort Racing next weekend on the Zandvoort track (Netherlands).

« After a period where I had to focus on my studies, it's a relief to know that I can finally concentrate on my sporting career, confides the 19-year-old young woman. »

Sophia Flörsch is promoted from the German F4 championship where she scored two podiums last season. She has the support of the Dare to be Different foundation created by Susie Wolff to help women in motorsport, an association of which Flörsch is an ambassador.

« We are delighted to welcome Sophia to the team, comments Frits van Amersfoort. His career through the ranks of motorsport inspires respect and his performance during our test sessions convinced us of his talent. »

Sophia Flörsch is the first woman to reach the European F3 championship since Tatiana Calderón in 2015. She joins Keyvan Andres Soori and Artem Petrov in the Dutch team.
