Ticktum, David Schumacher and Enzo Fittipaldi headline 2019 Macau GP

The 66th Macau Grand Prix (November 14-17, 2019) will feature 30 participants in the Formula 3. A first draft of the entry list was published Thursday October 17 by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).

The favorite will undoubtedly be the Briton Daniel Ticktum (Carlin). Winner in 2017 at the last minute and dominant the following year with the Motopark team, the former resident of Red Bull Junior Team returns to become the first driver to triple the stakes in this Asian event.

He will be accompanied in the English stable by Logan sargeant and Felipe Drugovich. The Italians of Prema will be around for the podium with the flagship trio of the regular season: the champion Robert Shwartzman and his runners-up Marcus Armstrong and Jehan Daruvala.

Charouz will field a renowned trio. Callum ilott will try to finally add Macau to its record by returning to the F3 stadium in a fifth attempt. The Englishman could not do better than fifth in 2016.

The pilot of Formula 2 will be supported by beginners with legendary surnames. David Schumacher, son of Ralf Schumacher, will take his first steps after several successes in European Regional Formula, in the company ofEnzo Fittipaldi, grandson of Emerson Fittipaldi.

Another major player from previous editions, Ferdinand Habsburg will lead the French ART Grand Prix team after a learning campaign in DTM, in a pattern similar to what Joel Eriksson achieved in 2018 (2nd). He will be accompanied by Christian Lundgaard and Sebastian Fernandez.

More generally, all the teams involved in FIA Formula 3 responded with their new car built by Dallara. Thus, Jüri Vips, fourth in FIA F3, will defend the colors of HitechGP.

MP Motorsport and Campos Racing have yet to determine their representatives. Currently, no French are involved.

Despite the terrible Sophia Flörsch crash in 2018 and the safety measures taken on the 6,2 km long Guia circuit, the FIA assures that the 2019 edition could be “the fastest in the history of the Macau GP, with the most powerful single-seaters than the previous version ». It promises !
