Andreas Mikkelsen conquering in Scotland

The pilots Peugeot were good contenders for victory. Guy Wilks was the first leader of the event until he was caught by Andreas Mikkelsen in SS4. The Briton then increased the pace but went off the road in the following special, causing him to lose all his hopes of victory by falling several minutes behind the Norwegian. The Lion driver will have drank the chalice to the dregs by giving up in the last super special due to a mechanical problem.

Thierry Neuville (Peugeot) then seemed to be the only one able to match the speed of the leader. But the Belgian also made a mistake in SS7 by damaging his 207 S2000, leaving second place to Bryan Bouffier (Peugeot) who was already almost a minute behind the leader. The Frenchman did not manage to catch up with the Norwegian, even being caught by Juho Hänninen (Skoda), who was nevertheless invisible at the start of the event.

The Finn finally finished in second place behind Andreas Mikkelsen, the two drivers giving Skoda a double, which secured the Manufacturers' title. The Norwegian, who missed victory at Sanremo by 1??5 behind Thierry Neuville, is delighted with this performance in an event where the coefficient of points is more important. “It was a perfect weekend, no problems from start to finish”, exclaims the winner. “The car ran very well and the team did a fantastic job. We've had a lot of ups and downs this year but today we achieved it on the grounds of Skoda UK. »

Craig Breen (Ford) put in a very good performance to finish just off the podium after encountering numerous mechanical problems on his Fiesta S2000. The Irishman finished a handful of seconds ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda), who made no secret of being in difficulty in this event. Thierry Neuville finally finished in sixth position after overcoming other problems with his car.
