Campana at the Tour de Corse in S2000?

Last weekend, Frenchman Pierre Campana shone during the Ronde del Grifo, an event held in Italy. The young 25-year-old driver finished first in the S2000, fifth overall, aboard a Peugeot 207 of the trans teamalpine Munaretto. The two-wheel drive general classification leader in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and his teammate Sabrina de Castelli could even have claimed final victory in this rally consisting of four stages if he had not lost 50 seconds by being slowed down by a slower car during the first stage.

“This result has a bitter taste, but I had fun, underlines the pilot born in Bastia, in Corsica. It is a very tough race, due to the presence of many local specialists. Winning the S2000 category for the second year in a row is a good result. However, I am a little disappointed because the first and last stages did not go well, for reasons completely beyond my control. In the first, I caught up with a competitor who slowed me down for more than 6 km, ruining all my chances of a podium overall. The second and third passes were very good, and in the last one, with this red flag I couldn't get the fourth place I was aiming for. I'm happy to have been competitive, and to have gained more experience. I hope to give some good news very quickly about a project we are trying to put together. »

According to the official IRC website, this project would be a participation in Tour of Corsica in S2000. Pierre Campana would like to build on this great performance to find the budget that would allow him to participate, at home, in the third round of the IRC (from May 12 to 14) at the wheel of a four-wheel drive.
