The champion puts his title back on the line. Hayden Paddon, crowned European rally champion in ERC last year, will defend his crown in 2024. The New Zealander confirmed on Tuesday his commitment to another full ERC campaign this season at the wheel of the Hyundai i20 Rally2, in addition to its program for the New Zealand championship with an i20 AP4.

The 36-year-old driver, author of six podiums in seven events (including one victory) during the 2023 championship, will still be accompanied by the BRC Racing Team, and will drive under the colors of Hyundai NZ and Hyundai Motorsport.

“We are delighted to announce that we will return to try to defend our European Rally Championship in 2024, rejoices Hayden Paddon. Together, with the Hyundai i20 N Rally2, the BRC and John [Kennard], we look forward to the challenge of a new season, with new events, new competitions and new goals. »

“It took hard work over the summer to put this year's program together financially, which involved a lot of sacrifice, but I wouldn't have it any other way to do what I love most. Many thanks to Hyundai NZ, BRC, Hyundai Motorsport and Pirelli who helped us make this happen. »
