Daniel Elena wants to “have fun”

Entered with number 100 – that of the Centenary of the Monte-Carlo Automobile Rally – Daniel Elena does not have the pretensions of a World Champion at the start of “his” rally. Just that of an amateur driver who came to have fun behind the wheel of a Citroën DS3 R3.

Daniel Elena wants to “have fun”

In 2011, Daniel Elena participated in his third Rally Automobile Monte-Carlo (as a driver) after two experiences in 1997 and 1998. He is accompanied by his best friend Olivier Campana.

“The most important thing for me is to have fun,” says the fun-loving Monegasque. “I have almost no experience driving this car. I only covered fifty kilometers of testing and I find it very different from the C2. There is a lot more power thanks to the turbo. The only thing that stays in the same position is the steering wheel! »

" I want to have fun. And, for me, the first special will be like a shakedown,” he concludes.

Associated with Sébastien Loeb, Daniel Elena has won the Monte-Carlo Rally five times as co-driver.
