ERC – Bonnefis and Consani armed for the Tour de Corse

Germain Bonnefis made a very good debut in ERC with Renault as he took second place in the Production category behind Andreas Aigner's Subaru Impreza STI R4 while making his first outing with the Mégane RS N4. The French Land Rally champion is now preparing to face the Tour de Corse, a particularly delicate event which could nevertheless suit his mount. “I think the Mégane can do well in this area. THE rally includes long special stages, challenging due to the number of turns. In these conditions, the endurance of Michelin tires can make the difference. In addition, the car uses less brakes than heavier and more aggressive cars. This could help us in the long term. In addition, the stages display different profiles and the range of settings of Mégane RS N4 will be an undeniable asset in the race for victory in Production. This is the third time that I am taking part in the event, these roads are familiar to me and I like them. »

His teammate Robert Consani also had a good performance after completing the category podium at the end of the Spanish event. But unlike Germain Bonnefis, the Rallye des 10 Virages will be a discovery for him. The official Losange driver therefore remains humble about his objectives for this weekend even if he is confident about the capabilities of his car. “We will have worked a lot on the course, whether on video or in reconnaissance. But the fact remains that my lack of experience of the event will remain a handicap. The tests we conducted a few weeks ago went well and we think we can do well in this event. The stages are long, you will have to stay focused. The Mégane will be able to play its card, especially as we arrive with an evolution of the exhaust which gives us a little power. We will have to be quickly in the match, without overdoing it obviously. We are humbled by this legendary rally and we hope to rank as high as possible in the Production Cup. »
