ERC – Bouffier takes control in Poland

The second home of Bryan Bouffier remains Poland. The former 2010 French Rally champion and former winner of the Rally Monte-Carlo in 2011 had won the national title in Eastern Europe three times between 2007 and 2009 and did not take long to find the right rhythm on the stages of the Rzeszow Rally, counting this year for the Championship of Europe of Rallies.

The Drômois, beaten last night by the local hero Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Ford Fiesta R5), overall leader on the continental scene, and outgoing champion, took advantage of the Pole's initial loss of time in SS2 this morning, hampered by the exit of another competitor, to distance himself from his rival. Despite Kajetanowicz's counter-attack in SS3, Bouffier responded straight away in the final morning SS to finish with a 7″ lead before the afternoon specials.

The two drivers seem well on their way to facing off in a duel since behind the duo, the gap is already significant with third Grzegorz Grzyb (Ford Fiesta R5), 55″ behind Bouffier. The top 5 is completed by Jakub Brzezinski (Ford Fiesta R5) and Tomasz Kasperczyk (Ford Fiesta R5).
