ERC – Breen leads on Rally Ireland

Craig Breen (DS 3 R5) concluded the first stage of the Rally from Ireland. The local driver, who quickly took the lead of the race following the retirement of Elfyn Evans (Ford Fiesta R5) with a mechanical problem, has a 25-second lead over Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Fiesta R5).

The Citroën driver was more than half a minute ahead but a spin in the last special caused him to lose around ten seconds.

Alastair Fisher (Fiesta R5) completes the leading trio, less than three seconds behind the Pole. Fredrik Ahlin (Fiesta R5) dropped to seventh behind Martin McCormack (Skoda Fabia S2000), Jaromir Tarabus (Fabia R5) and Josh Moffett (Fiesta R5) after hitting a curb on the final course of the day where he damaged the back of his car.

Robert Consani (DS 3 R5) had to dismount at the start of the event following a broken transmission.
