ERC – Craig Breen first leader in the Azores

Three ES for a very short first day but which has already highlighted the difficulty of the muddy roads of the Rally of the Azores 2014, where the caravan of theERC settled down on the Portuguese island for the 5th round of the championship. And it's the Irish Craig Breen who showed himself the most to his advantage during this first stage at the wheel of his Peugeot 208 T16 R5. But the official Lion driver will have to be wary of a lively Polish Kajetan Kajetanowicz, offensive on his Ford FIesta R5, and winner of the last two ES this Thursday. Nine tenths of a second separate the two rivals this evening.

Kevin Abbring, Breen's teammate at Peugeot Sport, completes the master trio of this first stage, 3″5 from the race lead. Follows the first Portuguese Ricardo Moura (Ford Fiesta R5), and his two compatriots, Bernardo Sousa (Ford Fiesta RRC) and Bruno Magalhaes (Peugeot 207 S2000). Among the French, Robert Consani complained of transmission problems in SS3 and is in 9th place this evening with his Peugeot 207 S2000.

The second stage will start tomorrow at 11:48 a.m. French time
