ERC – Jan Kopecky wins his duel

Jan Kopecky won his duel against Alexey Lukyanuk (Ford Fiesta R5) which lasted until the end of the Barum Rally in the Czech Republic. The local driver finally won with more than two minutes ahead of his compatriot Tomas Kostka after the Russian made a mistake in the last special stage of the event. The latter was little rewarded for his efforts since he was only able to save a 15th place.

Jan Cerney completed the podium, finishing less than eight seconds behind second place, while Pavel Valousek completed a quartet of Czech drivers. Fabian Kreim ranks in the top five and gives Skoda a quintuple by preceding Martin Vlcek with less than two seconds in advance.

Bryan Bouffier (DS 3 R5) was hanging on to third place until an engine problem forced him to retire at the end of the 13th special. Chris Ingram (Opel Adam R2) achieves his first success of the season in the Junior category.
