ERC – Kajetanowicz wins, Gryazin wins in Latvia

Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Ford) won his third consecutive title in ERC following the season finale at Rally from Latvia. The Pole, assured of the coronation the day before following the retirement of Bruno Magalhaes (Skoda), occupied third place before giving up in the penultimate time trial.

Nikolay Gryazin (Skoda) scores his first ERC victory and also takes victory in the U28 category for the first time. The national driver of the event held off his compatriot Kalle Rovanperä (Ford) who was making his ERC debut, while Lukasz Habaj (Ford) completed the podium almost three minutes from the lead. The Pole was eight seconds ahead of José Suarez (Peugeot ).

Tibor Érdi Jr (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Nitiss (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) who beat the new champion by more than two minutes.

Chris Ingram (Opel) becomes champion of the Junior U27 category after winning another category victory ahead of Martins Sesks (Peugeot 208 R2). The Teams title goes to Castrol Ford Team Türkiye.

The second stage of the Latvia Rally was disrupted by helicopter crash. The organizers mentioned “a civil helicopter accident” forcing them to cancel SS11 in order to allow emergency services to intervene. The press release does not provide further information on the condition of the occupants.
