ERC – SS11 interrupted by helicopter accident

The eleventh special of Rally of Latvia scheduled for early Sunday afternoon, counting for the European Rally Championship (ERC) was interrupted after a helicopter crash near the finish line.

“Emergency services and doctors immediately went to the crash site. SS11 has been stopped and will not restart », indicated the organizers. For the moment, no further information regarding the number of people in the helicopter has been filtered. This helicopter did not belong to the rally organization, but to civilians.

The crews were credited with a fixed time. The ranking does not change, Nikolay Gryazin and Yaroslav Fedorov lead the rally aboard their Skoda Fabia R5.
