ERC – The provisional calendar for the 2016 season

Eurosport Events, the promoters of theERC, revealed theThe provisional calendar for the 2016 season which was presented to the FIA ​​Rally Commission. The European Championship will remain at ten events in order to limit costs for participants, while the Junior category will maintain six weekends.

With the withdrawal of the Jännerrallye (Austria), the season will only start in February with the Rally of Latvia which will precede theth Canary Islands Rally disputed the following month. The Portuguese event will make its return to the discipline for the first time since 2013. After being included in the calendar of the WRC, Poland will also host the ERC in the month of August. The Ypres Rally (Belgium) will remain on the program, scheduled for June 23 to 25.

The Acropolis Rally (Greece) should be brought forward to May subject to agreement between the promoter of the discipline and the local federation. The Rallye du Valais (Switzerland), final of the 2015 season, is registered as an alternate event.

The FIA ​​World Council will validate the ERC calendar at its last meeting of the year which will be held in Paris on December 2.
