ERC – Rally Liepaja will become a gravel event

Due to a lack of snow last February, Rally Liepaja had to be postponed to the end of the season on the weekend of September 18 to become an event contested on gravel. This setback did not prevent the promoters ofERC to extend with the organizers of the Latvian event for three additional seasons.

The other novelty is the decision to abandon snow to keep a dirt surface for future editions.

“Hosting an event on snow has brought a unique dimension to the ERC and we are sure it will remain just as spectacular when it is contested on gravel next month, assured Jean-Baptiste Ley, the general coordinator of the ERC. It will remain an event on land in the future, we can count on the professionalism and adaptability of the organizers. »

“It was easy for us to decide to extend with them given the quality of the special stages, the importance of the Championship in the Baltic region and the excellence of the organization,” said Jean-Baptiste Ley.
