ERC – Mark Higgins with JRM’s Subaru WRX STi

After having scoured the English slopes and the roads of WRC for more than 20 years, Mark Higgins, three-time English rally champion (1997, 2005 and 2006) will take part in the European Rally Championship ERC at the wheel of the new Subaru WRX STi fielded by the JRM team. “Mark is a sure value in motorsport and his experience will be a major asset to our Subaru program, explains James Rumsey, managing director of JRM. The ERC is very tough but we believe that with Mark behind the wheel of our WRX STI, we can illustrate the level reached in terms of performance with a latest generation Group N car. »

Higgins will be entered in the Ypres, Barum and Valais rallies, i.e. three rounds on asphalt. The 42-year-old Briton said he couldn't wait to get started. “It’s great to be with a new team and drive a new car at some fantastic events. The ERC is a very strong championship and today's Group N cars are very pleasant to drive. They are like the Group A cars of yesteryear in terms of performance. »

We will therefore see Higgins from June 19 at the wheel of the WRX STi on the Belgian roads of Ypres. In the meantime, the ERC resumes its rights this weekend for the Circuit of Ireland.
