Freddy Loix achieves his goals in Ypres

Freddy Loix achieves his goals in Ypres

The victory seemed easy to achieve for Freddy Loix, who led the race from start to finish. Rally d?Ypres with a comfortable lead over their opponents. The Belgian took advantage of the successive withdrawals of most of his direct opponents to take off and win his seventh victory at home.

Despite his large lead in the second stage, Freddy Loix affirms that the test was still difficult, the slightest mistake could happen at any moment. “The second stage was a long day because we started in the morning in the wet”, explains the winner. “I didn’t really know how to be fast. I shouldn't rush either because Ypres is always a tricky rally. It became easier when I was a minute ahead of the second car. »

His uncontested victory allows him to take the lead in the Championship with three points ahead of Bryan Bouffier (Peugeot ), who placed second in the Belgian event. “The most important thing for me when I went to Corsica was to regain first place in the IRC Championship (3rd place),” adds Freddy Loix. “I was very disappointed not to be able to come to Ukraine and I told myself at that moment that I would do everything to play for victory in each rally and regain the lead in the Championship. »
