Kopecky: Corsica, a difficult test

Jan Kopecky failed to take the lead in the Tour de Corse and finished 15”5 behind Thierry Neuville, winner of the event. Nevertheless, the Skoda driver confirms having a lot of fun on this rally.

Kopecky: Corsica, a difficult test

With his second place, Jan Kopecky shares second place in the IRC Championship with Thierry Neuville. The two drivers find themselves 5 points behind the new leader Freddy Loix. The Skoda driver was not in full confidence, even if he remained on the pace of the driver Peugeot .

« Maybe it?s not the car?s fault! », admits the Czech. “ It was difficult, Corsica is a rally very particular and fast, with smooth asphalt, lots of turns, wide and narrow sections. Finding the perfect set-up is impossible. We weren?t full of confidence at the start but everything was perfect in the last stage »

Jan Kopecky specifies that this event is long and tiring, but he admits to having had a lot of fun in this rally. “ It's a very long week for everyone. The reconnaissance began on Monday and we covered more than 700 km on winding roads. But we really enjoyed this event. Why not visit other places on the island if we return to this rally? »
