Rally Poland postponed

Le Rally of Poland scheduled for June 26 to 28 will have to be postponed due to the health measures taken by the government to fight the coronavirus. The Polish Auto and Motorcycle Federation is now working with theERC to find new dates and intend to make an announcement on this subject before the end of May.

“This need to replace the date for the Rally Poland is a direct result of the coronavirus pandemic and all our thoughts are with those affected by Covid-19, declared Jean-Baptiste Ley, the coordinator of the ERC. We are also aware that many jobs are at risk during these difficult times. Because of this, it is important to follow official advice. »

“Our preparations for the rally are well advanced, in theory completed, added Krzysztof Maciejewski, the race director of the 77th edition of the event. We had almost completed the field work before the restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic were implemented. We were even early. Unfortunately, we haven't had any good news in recent days. Restrictions in our country have been extended, hotels and transport have been closed. We must respect these restrictions, hoping that this will help improve the epidemiological situation in the near future. »

The ERC has already postponed several events such as Canary Islands Rally whose dates have been changed several times. Poland has more than 12 people infected with Covid-000 and nearly 19 deaths in a population of around 600 million inhabitants.
