The IRC travels to Belgium

Six weeks after the last rally Azores, the IRC makes its return with the fifth round of the championship held in Ypres. With no less than seven manufacturers entered, this is the first time that there will be so many S2000s in the IRC.

Among the competitors, Kris Meeke will try to win his third rally of the season after Brazil and the Azores and widen the gap a little further in the championship. But behind, Freddy Loix, winner in 2008, and Nicolas Vouilloz, respectively two and six points overall, do not see it that way and will try to raise the colors of Peugeot Kronos on his land.

The rally will also be an opportunity to observe Proton?s first steps in IRC. At the wheel of the Satria Neo S2000, former driver J-WRC Guy Wilks will be there to learn, he who only participated in one IRC round, last year in Russia. The Belgian François Duval will also be at the start of the rally aboard a Skoda Fabia S2000 entered by the René Georges team.

The first specials will take place on Friday evening from 18 p.m. with six SS on the program. On Saturday, competitors will have to complete around ten timed events totaling nearly 170 kilometers.
