Meeke celebrates his title in Scotland

For the final round of the season, IRC competitors will meet in Scotland from Thursday evening where the RAC MSA Rally of Scotland will take place. Throughout the 1000 km including 225 km of special in the Welsh forests around Perth and Stirling, Kris Meeke (Peugeot 207 S2000), Guy Wilks (Skoda Fabia S2000), Alister McRae (Proton Satria Neo S2000) and others will try to achieve the last victory of the year.

Among the stages used throughout these three days, some have not been used for 20 years during the heyday of the RAC. The drivers will set off on Thursday evening with two 'SS' in the historic county of Perthshire. Friday, five stages will be on the program including Craigvinean, Blackcraig, Errochty and Drummond Hill. Finally, on Saturday the competitors will compete in six new timed events including Loch Ard, 33,52 km long, which will end the day's two loops.

To prepare for the event, IRC Champion Kris Meeke carried out tests at the start of the week. The Northern Irishman even slightly damaged his suspension but, after a small repair, was able to leave quickly. On the other hand, his teammate Adam Gould, who was entrusted with the BFGoodrich wheel, suffered an engine failure and was only able to complete around fifty kilometers at the wheel of the Peugeot 207 S2000. Despite this, the young 22-year-old driver insisted on being positive.

« I?m really looking forward to the start. Is the car fantastic? just extraordinary! The noise is sensational “, he said. After the reconnaissance which began on Tuesday, the competitors will attend the starting ceremony on Thursday from 20:50 p.m. before setting off on the first special straight away.
