Meeke dreams of victory in Monte-Carlo

The Northern Irishman, winner of the 2009 IRC, will be at the start of the next Rally Monte-Carlo, opening round of the 2010 IRC season. Kris Meeke, at the wheel of his Peugeot 207 S2000, admits that he would like to add the event to his prize list, something which is far from obvious as the field will be raised with the presence of Mikko Hirvonen, Sébastien Ogier, Guy Wilks, Nicolas Vouilloz, Juho Hanninen, Jan Kopecky, Julien Maurin, Robert Kubica, Stéphane Sarrazin? But, in addition to adversity, Kris Meeke recognizes that winning on these legendary roads would be a great moment in his career.

« There are world championship events, like the Rally Finland where you have to be at full throttle all the time, which are extraordinary from the driver's point of view, comments Kris Meeke. But Monte-Carlo is prestigious and if you ask anyone what rally they have already heard of, they will answer Monte-Carlo. It has a story behind it and it would be an incredible thing to join the list of those who have won it, it would be the pinnacle of my career. »
