Neuville: “I count on my regularity”

After a flamboyant victory in Corsica, Thierry Neuville confirmed its rise to power by winning a Rally of Sanremo full of suspense at the beginning of September. The Belgian, still accompanied by Nicolas Gilsoul, however expects to experience a particularly delicate Scottish rally this weekend. If eight of the first nine meetings took place on asphalt, the competitors in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge will battle it out on gravel this week.

“I will be in Scotland, at the third gravel rally of my life behind the wheel of a four-wheel drive, recalls the driver of the 207 S2000 fielded by Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg. We are no longer in Sanremo. A priori, I can't see myself aiming for victory and I'm counting on my consistency to achieve a result. »

Before the last two rounds of the season Thierry Neuville occupies third place in the general classification, 25 points behind leader Jan Kopecky, six if we only take the five best results, as will be the case during the final count. As a reminder, the Scottish Rally benefits from a coefficient of 1,5, so victory will earn 37,5 points.
