Peugeot accepts its sanction

Kris Meeke (Peugeot 207 S2000), in his duel with Guy Wilks (Skoda Fabia S2000), won on the field, but this Thursday, the stewards excluded the Northern Irishman from the Scottish round of the IRC. His Peugeot had too light weight regarding the front subframe of the car.

Olivier Quesnel, director of Peugeot Sport, accepts this sanction. “ We recognize the decision of the stewards. We are responsible for what happened, but guilty of nothing. This is due to an administrative error, which we intend to correct. The error had no influence on the performance of the 207 Super 2000 and we must apologize to Kris Meeke, whose talent and title acquired this year are not affected by this issue. »

Kris Meeke previously secured the IRC title by winning Rally Sanremo. With the Rally less Scotland on his list, the Northern Irishman therefore ends the season with four victories in the IRC.
