Coming out of a 2018 season mainly contested in WRC2, Pierre-Louis Loubet had also added the first two rounds of the European Rally Championship to the program of its previous campaign ERC, namely the Azores and Canary Islands rallies.

The son of Yves Loubet, the latter having been crowned European rally champion 30 years ago in a Lancia Delta Integrale, will once again compete in the first two events on the European scene in 2019, in a Skoda Fabia R5 operated by the 2C Competition structure.

“Pilouis” above all hopes to have more success in the Azores, after a 2018 edition quickly disrupted by mechanical problems. “In the Azores last year we had engine problems after six kilometers, recalls the Frenchman.

It was a big disappointment after the long journey to get to the island and is one of the reasons why we are coming back this year. When we returned to racing on the last day, the times were interesting without experience. We are working hard to come back this year and I am more than confident to achieve a good result. »

Other rounds of the 2019 European calendar could be added to Loubet's program, all depending greatly on his results in the inaugural island rounds.
