Proton, which launched into the IRC this season during the Ypres Rally, wants to start again in 2010 with greater ambition and field two cars throughout the season.

Proton wants to confirm in 2010

The team, with the support of Malaysian car manufacturer Proton, launched into the IRC this season during the Rally d?Ypres and was able to field two cars during the Barum Rally in the Czech Republic, with Guy Wilks and Bryan Bouffier at the wheel.

During the last Rally of Scotland, only one Satria Neo S2000 was lined up, with Alister McRae on board, for a second place in the final classification, following the exclusion of Kris Meeke (Peugeot 207 S2000), first podium of the season for Proton.

After this first year of learning, Proton will try to establish itself further in 2010 in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. “ Next year is going to be a very busy year for us with two cars in IRC ", says team principal Chris Mellors.

Alister McRae, author of Proton's first podium this season, during the last Rally of Scotland, could do it again next season. “ We hope Alister will be involved in the program next season but there are plenty of drivers we are in talks with, continues Mellors.
