Skoda launches its Fabia R2

The R2 category is booming with the recent arrivals of Renault with its Twingo or Citroën with its C2 R2 for example. It's Skoda's turn to enter the dance with its little Fabia, known for its high-performance S2000 definition.

The Fabia R2 would have undergone two years of development in order to be as successful as possible. Significant modifications were of course made to the engine, the underbody, the running gear and the gearbox. Transmission to the front wheels only is provided by a Sadev 5-speed sequential gearbox, while the naturally aspirated 4-liter 1,6-valve 16-cylinder develops 180 horsepower at 7500 rpm. The maximum torque of 194 Nm is available at 5500 rpm.

The Fabia R2, already available from the Czech manufacturer, is offered at a price of around 62 euros.
