Wilks left Proton

Engaged in the IRC Championship since Rally from Ypres in mid-June, Guy Wilks competed in six events at the wheel of a Proton Satria Neo S2000 and finished fourth in Russia in July. The double British champion has however decided to leave the team.

« Chris Mellors has just returned from Malaysia but he can't promise me anything for 2010 regarding budget and development when the team needs both to develop the potential of the Proton "Wilks said. “ I (So) came to see the guys at MEM to ask them to be released immediately. »

However, Wilks is not giving up hope of making his return to the IRC championship. “ The IRC is a great championship with good cars and Phil (his co-pilot) and I are determined to return as quickly as possible ", he added.

The final round of the series will be held from November 19 to 21 in Great Britain. Alister McRae will take Wilks' place behind the wheel of the Proton.
